Why were none of these on the BBC's "I love 1975"

Vietnam War ends
Communist troops capture Saigon
Khmer Rouge take control in Cambodia
Civil war begins in Lebanon
The Spanish monarchy is restored after the death of general Franco
IRA terrorists holdout for six days in Balcombe street siege
Britains first North Sea oil piped ashore
Dutch Elm disease devastates trees across UK
Domestic video cassette recorders introduced
41 people killed in Tube crash at Moorgate, London
West Indies win the first Cricket World Cup

BBC revisionism tells us that 1975 was all about Spacehoppers, The Sweeney, The Bay City Rollers and ... (I turned off at this point.) There is a systematic attempt being made to brainwash the general public that nothing is of any consequence, or that it is all under control. The reality is that we are still valued only as wage slaves and potential cannon fodder for the hereditary rich.

Probably since the BBC asked no searching questions about any of those single events at the time and, for the most part, since, they are all on the same level to the BBC as Space Hoppers et al.

The BBC take the phrase 'News Reporting' seriously - that is what they do. For example...a bomb goes off in Beirut/Belfast/Windhoek and responsibility is claimed by a,b, or c. To 'mention' that is the extent of the BBC's mission. To delve more deeply runs the risk of announcing to the viewership that their own government, civil service and a great many of their own employers are demonstrably linkable to the dynamic which featured in its continuum the aforesaid explosion.

In light of this it is a puzzle (speaking as a criticist) that they pay people to inform the viewers what the weather is like in their local area. It would be more logical to remind the more slow-witted viewers every now and then to stick their heads out of the window.

What rot

What rot this is. I've spent all this time reading this and the commentary and discover I have wasted my time.

You must think time grows on trees.

Yes but...

I live quite high up and we can't open our windows in case someone falls out, so we can't tell what the weather is like. Sometimes it looks hot and I leave my coat indoors and I get outside and its a bit too chilly not to have my coat so I have to go back upstairs for it. So that man who said about the weather forecast isn't the clever clogs he thinks he is. And what about if it is misty and you can't see how far it is misty for and I am going to Cricklewood or West End Lane. I wouldn't know it is misty there till I get there and sometimes that would be too late.
