Note: They omit Feargal Mooney's write-in vote, 109 "spoiled" votes, which placed him twelfth out of the seventeen.

Congratulations to Mr Mooney. A creditable and credible performance.
Congratulations also to Ms Teather. You must now hope that Labour retain that deadbeat Blair as their leader. You may then retain the seat at the General Election.
To the hordes of Labour MPs who subscribe to the Willesden Herald I would say that the result is largely a message to you Labour MPs. If Blair is still leader at the next election droves of you will lose your cosy sinecures at Westminster. People would now be reluctant to trust Blair to look after their cat for an afternoon or to buy a used car off him, tainted as he is by handing over public funds and resources to private (and often failing) for-gross-profits entrerprises, and his failed promises and lies (yes, let's not mince words) about Iraq and the reason for having our lads out there. For God's sake will not some of you stand up and use the word "lies" too and forget this nonsense about him being basically "a decent man". He is a deranged and ignorant man.
Never has a government in this country been so hopefully anticipated and joyously received as Labour were in 1997, and never has a government so disastrously failed to walk the walk after talking the talk.
Ditch Blair, rediscover the art of meaning what you say and showing what you say is true, and run the country on behalf of those who create the wealth, who, in case you have forgotten, are the labourers who invest their lives and labour, not foreign and domestic capitalists who invest their money and receive huge amounts of public subsidies for their subsequent failures - or prepare for a term in opposition. Blair has squandered a nation's goodwill. Put a stop to him.
