Never mind Glastonbury - it's Gladstonbury

Willesden Herald exclusive sound and video

Blue Bishops were superb, sounding very much like the desperately missed Rory Gallagher and his band. Here's a snippet of them playing Hoochy Coochy Man (1.19mb) by Muddy Waters. They were superb.

If your bandwidth [and ours -Ed] can stand it, by the power of wireless telegraphy we even have this moving picture presentation:

The Willesden Herald - first with the blues

The Bishops were fantastic. There were some other great performances, especially Thabani and the Taeko Kunishima Quintet (despite being a Quartet because the drummer got stuck somewhere between Willesden and Cardiff).

Hope you won't mind a parish notice: If anyone wants to get involved with organising or helping out with next year's festival, drop me a line at adam@pitv.com. Gladstonbury is dreamt up and organised by music-loving locals - it's NOT a council event. (Because if it was it would be crap.) It's a lot of work (especially when, as this year, some friendly folk pull down the big marquee the night before), but good fun and there's a free curry for anyone who stays behind to pick up the litter.

All the best,

Adam

P.S. I like the website - this is the first time I've come across it.

Simon Burrett, slide guitar player from the Blue Bishops.

Just a quick note [at the risk of this sounding like a mutual admiration society] to thank everybody involved with Gladstonebury. The organisers were great and the crowd a real blast to play to. Events of this kind are still to few and far between in the UK and it's great to see there are still people who put so much effort in. Even better to see it successful. Once again, thanks to everyone involved. And, of course, the people who enjoy our music as much as we enjoy playing it.

Simon Burrett, Martin Turner, Geoff Grange, Justin Hildreth, Ben Smith.
