Freedom fries all round


He knew human folly like the back of his hand,
And was greatly interested in armies and fleets;
When he laughed, respectable senators burst with laughter,
And when he cried the little children died in the streets.

Once again, the lines from Auden come to mind, and one thinks of Bush laughing and his courtiers forcing a laugh, and his and Blair's tawdry and hollow "emoting" on demand.
